Obituary of Earl Berry

Earl “John” Berry was born on July 12, 1928 on the Berry farm in Celt, Missouri to Fugate and Stella Berry. He departed this world on Sunday, August 26, 2018 on the same farm surrounded by his family.

In July of 1948, John met the love of his life, Ruth, and they were married two weeks later, on July 16th. Into this union 5 children were born.

During the early years of his marriage, John moved his family to Independence, Missouri, where he worked for Missouri Plating. He then returned to the farm in Celt, Missouri in the 70’s where they lived and operated a dairy.

At a time in life when most consider retirement as an option, John continued to work driving a grader for Dallas County Road and Bridge for 32 years until at age 87 he retired!

John was a quiet man whose joy came from his family, caring for his animals and the peacefulness of his family farm.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Ruth Berry; his parents Fugate and Stella Berry; seven brothers, Glen, Ralph, Virgil, Byrl, twin brother Purl, Virl and one infant sibling; three sisters, Lova, Beatrice and Ethel.
