Obituary of Sandra Jean Hunter

Sandra Jean Hunter, 74, of Camp Point, formerly of Ferris, Illinois, passed away at 11 am, Thursday,November 17, 2022 at Timberpoint Healthcare Center.

Sandra was born October 30, 1948, the daughter of William Franklin and Betty Jean (Rittenour) Hunter in Brookfield, Missouri. She graduated from Carthage Community High School in 1967. After graduation, she worked at Sheller Globe Corporation in Keokuk, Iowa before working at Methode Electronics for over 30 years until her retirement. She had attended the Ferris Christian Church and the First United Presbyterian Church in Carthage. Sandra belonged to a bowling league in Carthage. Her competitive streak allowed her to win numerous trophies for her skill at tossing the ball down the lane. She enjoyed reading her Harlequin romance books, watching horror movies, and spending time with her nieces and nephews.

Sandra is survived by her brother, William (Elizabeth) Hunter II of Crystal Lake, IL, and two sisters Jacqueline West of Quincy, IL and Marguerite Sakis of Alabama, many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, two brothers-in-law, and a niece.

Graveside services will be held at Stanton Chapel Cemetery near Macks Creek on Monday,  November 26, 2022 at 10:00 am.
